We Watched An R-rated Movie

Olá a gente! Hope you guys are doing fine. I'm finally going to write something out this time. This past week was a good one. There wasn't a while ton of crazy stuff going on in terms of missionary work, but we did have the chance to make an awesome journey out to the middle of nowhere Portugal. There were actually a few awesome villages we were able to walk through, and we found some cool chapels and some awesome cork trees. So that was pretty fun. This week was also full of festivities since the Euro Cup is going on. They set up an outdoor amphitheatre in Espinho for everyone to be able to watch the games. It was packed and going crazy when Portugal was playing. So far, we are doing great. Whenever we scored, you could hear the cheers throughout the entire town. And we actually made a cameo in one of the pictures that the city posted on their social media.  There were also lots of celebrations for São João, which is a big festa that takes place Saturday through Monday. Olá!  Sorry, I don't have much time for writing, so here's a voice recording. Sorry about the lack of emails lately. I'll be better the next few weeks. Até a próxima! Elder  Howard Hola, this week I figured I’d try something different: a voice recording. I’ve seen missionaries do it before, and I thought it was pretty cool, but I just never did it, so I figured I’d try it this time. I’m kind of lazy right now, I gotta admit, which is sort of why I didn’t write last week. But for this week, yeah, the past two weeks have been pretty good. Starting a new transfer, getting to know the new district—they’re all really cool. It’s gonna be a good last transfer. Last week was pretty good. One day, we actually went bowling, so we all got together and went to the mall. The elders just kind of walked around or sat around while the sisters bought about 20 new outfits, so that was kind of fun. Afterwards, we went bowling together. The bowling alley was probably the most rundown one I’ve ...

The Beginning Of The End

Oi! Well, this is it. My last transfer here in Portugal. We had transfers this last Friday, and I'll be staying here in Espinho (which was a given). The last week of the transfer is always a crazy one, so I don't remember a whole ton of stuff. It was fun, though. We had an elders quorum activity on Wednesday. We all got together and ate a ton of Bifanas together. They're basically little thin strips and pieces of pork or beef slow cooked in a really good sauce that you put inside a roll. Delicious, but they'll melt your tongue to slag if you're not careful or let it cool down first.  It's officially summer here in Espinho. We have had nearly an entire week without a single cloud in the sky, and the sun microwaving the heck out of us. It's not too bad though, because it doesn't usually get above 85⁰, and we've got a nice cool breeze coming from the ocean. There's a lot more people outside now too, so it's a bit easier to find people to talk to...
