The Beginning Of The End

Oi!

Well, this is it. My last transfer here in Portugal. We had transfers this last Friday, and I'll be staying here in Espinho (which was a given). The last week of the transfer is always a crazy one, so I don't remember a whole ton of stuff. It was fun, though. We had an elders quorum activity on Wednesday. We all got together and ate a ton of Bifanas together. They're basically little thin strips and pieces of pork or beef slow cooked in a really good sauce that you put inside a roll. Delicious, but they'll melt your tongue to slag if you're not careful or let it cool down first.

It's officially summer here in Espinho. We have had nearly an entire week without a single cloud in the sky, and the sun microwaving the heck out of us. It's not too bad though, because it doesn't usually get above 85⁰, and we've got a nice cool breeze coming from the ocean. There's a lot more people outside now too, so it's a bit easier to find people to talk to. Unfortunately lots of them are just visiting.

We also had our last district council of the transfer last week. One of the sister missionaries was going home, so we held a funeral for her. It was pretty good. The sisters also lost a challenge, so they had to have a spoonful of pepper extract. It was hilarious. They were fine though, afterwards.

For pday today, we all met in Porto and walked around a bit. Ended up going to a really cool cathedral that had a ton of different things in it. Had a massive tower, a treasure room full of silver-clad books that were at least 4 feet long, and a bunch of crowns and robes. Once we were done, there was a lady from Ukraine who was doing a cool photo project. So we stopped, and she took a picture of us and printed it out on a cool newspaper thing. It was super cool, and she was awesome.

Hope you guys have a great week!
