Homies With The Witnesses

Image
Olá! The past week was definitely a memorable one. Lots of it was just the good old missionary work stuff. We had a division with the ZL's on Wednesday, which went well. It was pretty fun. We are also finally starting up English classes after not being able to for a few months. So those are really fun! Thursday was almost just a straight meme the whole time. Especially near the end of the day. But in the afternoon, we stopped by a basket/weaved goods store, and the owner just gave me an awesome straw sombrero. She's the best. It was fun to carry that thing around the rest of the day. This is where it got crazy. So we figured out that the Jehovah's Witnesses have meetings every Thursday at night. So my comp and I decided it would be fun to go test our luck and see if we could survive in a Kindom Hall as missionaries.  So we walked over, and we entered the building. They were all actually super, super nice, which was awesome. Turns out we talked to a few of them on the street...

New Sacrament Record

Boa tarde! Hope you all are doing well. I don't know why, but my memory of the past week has almost completely gone down the drain. I know I promised, but unfortunately this one might be a shorter one again. We had a few good lessons with friends, and did a lot of finding. There's lots of cool people here in Chaves. We also did a division in Vila Real, which was really fun. Zone conference was on Friday, which was pretty good. Got to see a few other missionaries I haven't seen in a while, so that was fun. Afterward, we had interviews, and those went a bit late, so we would be getting home late. So Sister Barcellos brought us all to McDonald's to eat, which was really awesome. She's my favorite person.  Sunday was a lot more successful than we thought it would be. We invited a friend, and she ended up bringing 2 other friends, which was great. They ended up really liking it. And then more members came than we thought would too. So we had a total of 14 people at churc...

A Haircut, Finally

Olá everyone! Tudo bem? This last week was kind of a blur. It was good, though. We stayed pretty busy and talked to a bunch of different people. Lots of funny interactions.  One of the amigos we are teaching is a soccer player for one of the teams here. He invited us to come watch part of his game, and it was awesome. We got in for free and everything. So that was really fun.  Elder On and I decided to start watching The Chosen since he's never seen it before. I always forget how good it is, and he is loving it too.  We got to go and play volleyball again with some of our amigos. Some of them are super good, so when you're up front, they'll go and spike it hard. It's pretty hard to actually save it.  Pday today was the same as it always is. Except this week, we got haircuts. Then we went and walked around town, went to the mall, and Decathlon (a sporting goods store) again. It's super fun though. Never get tired of it, haha. Sorry for the short and boring email, but...

Baptism!!

Olá everyone! I don't have much time to write, but I'll try and get what I can down. Not a whole ton of stuff happened, and it was kind of a blur. We absolutely went crazy this week and found 14 people. I think that's a new Chaves record. So that was super cool. I am looking forward to the rest of this transfer.  We had a baptism on Saturday! It was technically a branch baptism since his dad is a member, and he's 8, but we still were super excited because we taught him all the stuff. So that was super cool to see him make that choice and get baptized.  We also got to have lunch with the branch president on Sunday, and it was so good. We had a bunch of Brazilian stroganoff, which is little chunks of chicken, and you mix ketchup, mustard, and cream as a sauce for it. Sounds weird, but it's the best thing in the world. He also brought us up to the top of a mountain, which was fun. It was cool to see all the trees and the rock fields that went on for miles. Today for pd...
