Deadly Potatoes

Olá!


I am once again asking for your forgiveness for skipping a week. It has been getting a lot harder for me to work up the will to write an email every week. But honestly, not a whole ton of new stuff has happened. I'll give some of the highlights, though. 


About a week ago, we got together as a district to do whiteboard finding in Espinho, where we get a whiteboard, write a question on it, and ask people to answer iI. It went well for about 5 minutes until it started raining. Then we just talked to people underneath awnings and anywhere with cover. Once it stopped, we went to walk along the beachfront with the whiteboard and found this guy that sang songs really well. He put on a concert for us, and it was awesome. He was belting it out and was really good. So that was pretty fun. 


Last week for pday, we met as a zone and played a bunch of games and challenges at the church. It was pretty fun. My team was destroying the competition but got brought down right at the end. 


This past week absolutely flew by. I don't remember nearly a single thing that has happened. Espinho is hosting the world pro beach volleyball tournament, so there are a bunch of teams from all over the world that were in Espinho this past week. So it was fun to talk to and get to know so many different people, but it was a bit hard to find people that actually live here. Although, we did find a guy and his wife who retired here from Tennessee. He used to be a baptist pastor, and he was actually really cool and nice. So we might meet him another time, which would be cool. 


Pday today was fun. We decided to go to Porto and get some Francesinhas. The place we went to was actually super good. It's probably the best one I've had here in Portugal. Then we went to this really cool cathedral/tower, and it was massive. It was super tall, and there were some cool things inside. Once we were done there, we all went back home. But before we did, i stopped in a store and found some Arizona and some Frank's Red Hot sauce. It's so good. Haven’t had it in ages. So that was awesome.

The Office

Olá todos!! Hope you all had a great week. This last Friday was transfers, and with 4 whole transfers, or 6 months in Lapa, it was almost a 100% guarantee that I would be leaving. And if you couldn't guess from the spoiler in the title, I have been transfered to the mission office doing social media/technology! It's awesome because we basically make all the videos and content for the whole mission, and I love this stuff so it will be a great time here. We also get to travel all around Portugal, so I will have a chance to see the whole country.  Anyways, my last week in Lapa was awesome. We had one last district council, which was awesome. I made garlic knots for the district, and then we also went and ate burritos. Burritos are always one of the best parts of the week. We also had a few last meals with members, which were all awesome. Four Languages

Olá gente! This last week was a good one. We were able to put two of our friends on date for baptism! They're awesome, and we love teaching them.  Last week, we found a new friend from the Congo. At first, she just wanted to do a Bible study with us in Portuguese, because she wants to learn portuguese. Then after a bit, she started asking questions about missionaries, the church, and other things. She spoke English with us, but she's a native French speaker. So her Bible was French, which she read with us, but she somehow had a Spanish Book of Mormon. So we spoke English, read Spanish and French scriptures, and spoke some Portuguese. It was a very fun and interesting lesson. On Saturday, we were able to have a branch Christmas dinner. It turned out great, and we all had a great time.
