The Most Terrifying Halloween

Olá a todos!

This one might be a bit shorter because I don't have much time to write, so sorry about that.

This past week has been a crazy one. We had district counsel on Halloween, which was fun. We all did simple costumes, which was fun. Afterward, I had my interview with President. Since we are in the office, we get to hear about transfers a day or two early, so we have time to get stuff ready for all the missionaries and whatnot. So, in my interview, everything was going normally, and then I got smacked by the biggest plot twist of my mission so far. I was told that I was going to leave the office to go and whitewash an area that is on the border of Spain all the way up north, in a town called Chaves. I was absolutely shocked at the news. We were all expecting me to stay at least one more transfer as a social media elder. It has been super tough processing the whole thing, but I know I'm needed in Chaves, and so I am ready to take on this challenge. I'll definitely miss serving in Benfica

My first day in Chaves, my companion and I decided to walk around a bunch to get to know the town better. I don't know if it's the cold and rainy weather, but we ran into almost no one in a whole two hours of walking. We stopped maybe about 2-3 people the whole time. It felt like a ghost town. Sunday was interesting too. Instead of a ward or branch, here in Chaves, we have a group of about 4 people. So lots of the time, we have to conduct the meetings. It was definitely a unique experience. We also get to speak every week, which will be interesting.

For pday today, we deep cleaned the apartment, we walked a bit more around the area, stopped at a castle, and then ate at a McDonald's, which was probably the most exciting part of the day, haha I'm definitely excited to see what Chaves has in store for us.

Amo vocês!
