Lapa Family Reunion

Olá todos!

Everything is going good here in Lapa. The missionary work is still going great. We've been able to find and teach quite a few people, which is awesome. We are going to have a baptism this Saturday too, so that will be super cool.

Last pday, we decided to go walk around Lisbon a bit. We went and got pastéis de belem, and ate at a few other little eateries. There was this place that made these pork sandwiches from a whole roasted pig. It looked really good, so we all got one. It was really good.

Later this last weekend, we had a couple member meals. At the lunch, a guy came and joined us, and he turned out to be an RM that served here in the Lapa area a few years ago. He is from Bolivia originally, but just moved here to Portugal. He was super cool and fun to get to know. Then later for dinner, 3 others joined us, who also were RMs who served here in Lapa. So it was really cool talking to all my "ancestors" from Lapa. It was like a big family reunion.

This past Sunday, we had a TON of visitors at our branch. 5 whole families ended up visiting from Utah, and if you know anything about the size of Utahn families, you might be able to visualize about how many visitors we had there. So that sacrament meeting was pretty much just an English speaking meeting that time. My comp and I were also speaking in that meeting. And as we were walking up to the stand, we were asked to shorten, and to translate our talks into English. We had no preparation, and it's absolutely terrifying having to do that on the fly. Translating Portuguese scriptures is definitely not easy. But it was a good learning experience.

For this week's pday, we decided to go to Colombo, which I think is one of the biggest malls in western europe, which was cool. There were a lot of cool stores to go and look around in, and we were able to go bowling too. Turns out half of the Portugal mission had the same idea as us. So there was a lot of us bowling. It was super fun to go for the first time in a while.

Scripture of the week: Omni 1:26
And now, my beloved brethren, I would that ye should come unto Christ, who is the Holy One of Israel, and partake of his salvation, and the power of his redemption. Yea, come unto him, and offer your whole souls as an offering unto him, and continue in fasting and praying, and endure to the end; and as the Lord liveth ye will be saved.

Tchau!
