Cristo O Rei

Hey everyone!

Sorry about not sending out an email last week. I didn't have enough time to write one. I'll try and put in everything that happened from the week I missed.

We had a baptism! Our friend Marcelino that has been waiting for his fiancé to move here from Angola so they could get baptized was baptized on the 18th. Unfortunately His fiancé had some document/visa problems so she still isn't able to come yet. But they decided they would at least be baptized on the same day on their anniversary, which was awesome. Marcelino is awesome, and he hasn't missed a single Sunday for 40 straight weeks. So he will be an awesome addition to the branch.

We also had zone conference on St. Patrick's Day which was awesome. Fun to get to see the rest of the zone and to talk with everyone. I also got some Lucky Charms in the mail, which was delicious. Thanks mom.

Last week's p-day was as a zone. It was pretty fun. We all got together and played a bunch of gatorball, basketball, and a few other things, which was fun. It's getting hotter here too, so we all were getting sunburns after playing outside for hours.

The rest of the week was just full of the normal old stuff. But it's fun stuff. We taught a few awesome lessons, and met some cool people. We are teaching a lady that is super cool. She is really knowledgeable about the gospel, and asks a ton of good questions. She is loving it so far, and we look forward to teaching her more and seeing how she progresses.

For p-day today, we all went to the Cristo Rei statue that looks over the river. It was super cool to see all the stuff they had in the courtyard surrounding it,  like an olive grove, and some other statues. We were able to travel to the top of the statue and walk around beneath it. The view was also amazing, and it was cool seeing all of Lisbon at once. I got some pretty cool souvenirs there too. Afterwards, my comp and I decided we would go to the Liberty store in our area, and get a bunch of american foods. I'm gonna be snacking good the next few days.

Scripture of the week: Ether 12:4
Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God.

P.S. We are all thinking Portugal will have a 2nd temple announced in Porto this coming conference. Hopefully it happens
