O Gelato Italiano
Hey everyone!
Not too much happened this past week and a half, but there were definitely a couple cool miracles. Two of our friends were finally able to make it to church this past sunday, which was awesome. One of them, Diana, we have been teaching for about a transfer and a half, so almost 9 weeks. It has been hard to have her come to church, but she is a single mom with no car, so it's understandable. But she finally came and loved it, so we were super excited about that. Foi um milage mesmo
Caldas, our area is one of the bigger ones in the whole mission, but we don't have a car so it is really hard for us to the main part of the town to do missionary work. However, this last transfer we have been able to borrow the car the other elders in our apartment have, which they have to use to get over to their area. We switch our breakfast and study hours to go to other cities in our area to do some work. So that has been awesome to do some missionary stuff in different places, like Nazaré and São Martinho. It's cool to walk along the beachfront streets sharing the gospel with people we run into.
There's an italian gelato shop in one of the towns we were in this last week. So we stopped by to try some, and I don't think I've ever had anything more delicious in my life. I could've eaten a whole two gallons worth of it.
This last p-day, we were able to go to the temple again, which was as always, the best part of the week. It's always awesome to go and do temple work. Especially in a different language. Afterwards, we were able to go get lunch at the food court in one of the malls. The food choices are definitely a lot better than I have seen in any mall in the US. So that was fun.
Scripture of the week: Moroni 7:46-47
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never faileth. Wherefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail—
But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him.
I came across this scripture while looking for one to put in one of my Facebook posts last week, and it definitely has stuck with me. Charity is the greatest trait anyone could possess. Charity is to have kindness, selflessness, and to serve others. I invite all of you to try and always have charity throughout your lives, and I promise that you will receive many blessings because of that. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Até lá!
