P-day Na Lisboa
Olá todos!
This last week and a half was pretty fun, but it felt really long. Today, we had the chance to drive down to Lisbon to go to the temple. We decided to move our p-day to today so that we could go walk around the city after our temple session. We had to take the subway system to get to a certain part of the city, which was really fun. We went and got something to eat, and then we walked around a bit. There were a bunch of cool monuments/buildings to see. Lots of awesome things in Lisbon!
Halloween here is definitely different than in the states. Theres a good chunk of stores in downtown Caldas that have decorations, but not much other than that. The town has started preparing for Christmas already. For the past few days, they have been putting up a ton of lights above all the streets and buildings. They're not done yet, but when they are all lit up, I'll send a picture. There are also people with little carts that roast castanhas, which are just chestnuts, and we decided to get a bag. They're super good.
I also got to teach some lessons this past week, and I'm slowly getting more comfortable teaching in portuguese. Still not perfect by any means, but it's getting better and better.
Since lots of the lessons we teach are the people's first lessons, I get a lot of time to teach, but also study whats in the first lesson, especially the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I've studied about it a lot, but everytime I do again, I am always amazed at how incredible it is. So I invite all of they guys to study it. I know that getting to really know the sacrifice of Christ will bless your life.
Tchau!
