Air Drying And Match Start Stoves.

Olá! Tudo bem!

This last week was really fun. We had the chance to teach some people almost every day. There was a big language barrier, but I was able to hold my ground. Plus, the people here are very kind, so they were really understanding. After every lesson, we get fed a whole feast and you can't get away with eating only a little. Every time I think I'm done, I'm told to "Come mais!"

Here in Caldas, we have a really big park, which used to be a super old university campus. The old building looks like something from Harry Potter kinda. So we do a lot of our finding in the park because there are a lot of people walking around.

One thing that is different here than the states is that nearly everyone air dries their clothes. No one has dryers here. We also have to start our stove tops with matches, which is kinda fun actually. There are also bidets in every bathroom. Haven't used one yet though.

This week I was reading through the Book of Mormon, in Alma where he was talking to his son. There was one verse I read that I really liked in chapter 38. It says, "And now my son, Shiblon, I would that ye should remember, that as much as ye shall put your trust in God even so much ye shall be delivered out of your trials, and your troubles, and your afflictions, and ye shall be lifted up at the last day." I liked how it talked about the importance of trusting in the Lord. If we put our trust in Him, we will be supported through all the trials and troubles we may have in our life. We also learn and grow from those things we go through, and it will be worth it in the long run.

Tchau!
