Air Drying And Match Start Stoves.

Olá! Tudo bem! This last week was really fun. We had the chance to teach some people almost every day. There was a big language barrier, but I was able to hold my ground. Plus, the people here are very kind, so they were really understanding. After every lesson, we get fed a whole feast and you can't get away with eating only a little. Every time I think I'm done, I'm told to "Come mais!" Here in Caldas, we have a really big park, which used to be a super old university campus. The old building looks like something from Harry Potter kinda. So we do a lot of our finding in the park because there are a lot of people walking around.  One thing that is different here than the states is that nearly everyone air dries their clothes. No one has dryers here. We also have to start our stove tops with matches, which is kinda fun actually. There are also bidets in every bathroom. Haven't used one yet though. This week I was reading through the Book of Mormon, in Alma whe...

Tudo bem! This last week was really crazy. I served my last couple days in Florida last week, and I am glad I served with the people I did, and met the people I met. Had a couple cool miracles and lessons as well. I'm grateful I was able to serve in Florida for a bit! Here's where the week got a little crazy. Then it kept on getting delayed, little by little and we started to worry a bit. We eventually boarded the plane, but then we were asked to get off, because something was malfunctioning in the plane. After waiting a bit more, we were boarded on the plane again. Then something else happened to the plane and we had to get off again. At this point, it was about 3 in the morning, so the flight crew had to cancel the flight. We had to figure out how to get new tickets, and we spent a couple hours doing that. We were able to g...

Olá everyone!  Sorry for not sending an email last week, almost nothing happened, other than staying locked down in an apartment during the hurricane. It was an interesting experience. We were evacuated out of Melbourne, and we stayed with other elders who had extra room in their apartment. During our time stuck indoors, we had a TON of time to study lots of different things. I was able to read a lot of a book called Saints, which talks a lot about church history. It was really fun to see all the different things that happened, in a lot more detail than I had known before. I also got to study the scriptures a lot, and do a bunch of family history work. It’s always fun getting to look through my heritage, and read about my ancestors.  Later, on Friday, we were allowed to travel back to Melbourne when it was safe, and some of the flooding was taken care of. Luckily, our apartment was ok, but we did have a couple of electrical problems, so for a whole week, we had no power to our...
