Ian...
Tudo bem!
Another awesome week in Florida. Not super eventful, except for the past day or two. Turns out that we have a hurricane headed right for Florida, and it’s supposed to get up to a category 4 when it hits us. Good thing we’re on the other side from where it is supposed to hit. So in preparation for hurricane Ian, we all went and got all the food we could at the store, and today the mission president evacuated us to Orlando to be away from the coast because of the possible flooding that will happen in Melbourne. We’re supposed to just hunker down in our apartments for this week, so that will be an interesting experience. Good thing we have a ton of board and card games to play, a bowling alley at the apartment we evacuated to, and lots of food.
Earlier this last week, we had the chance to give a blessing to a member who was in the hospital and was really sick and wanted one. Before we could enter the room, we had to put on masks, rubber gloves, and a full body gown. We looked like we had hazmat suits on. We did give her the blessing, and it was a great experience. We hope she gets better.
Other than all the hurricane stuff, we had a good week. The 4 elders in my apartment had the opportunity to all speak in sacrament meeting on Sunday. I got to speak about faith. It was really fun being able to write it, and find quotes and stories from books and the scriptures. One thing I found that I really liked talked about how we all have these plans, or stories for our life that we want to happen. We try to “write” things into our life, like things we want, places we want to go or to live, jobs we want, along with a lot of other things. Some of those things might happen, but lots of them might not. We need to recognize, and have that faith and trust in Heavenly Father, who is the author of our life stories, and He knows exactly what is best for us in our lives.
Tchau!
