Ian...

Tudo bem! Another awesome week in Florida. Not super eventful, except for the past day or two. Turns out that we have a hurricane headed right for Florida, and it’s supposed to get up to a category 4 when it hits us. Good thing we’re on the other side from where it is supposed to hit. So in preparation for hurricane Ian, we all went and got all the food we could at the store, and today the mission president evacuated us to Orlando to be away from the coast because of the possible flooding that will happen in Melbourne. We’re supposed to just hunker down in our apartments for this week, so that will be an interesting experience. Good thing we have a ton of board and card games to play, a bowling alley at the apartment we evacuated to, and lots of food.  Earlier this last week, we had the chance to give a blessing to a member who was in the hospital and was really sick and wanted one. Before we could enter the room, we had to put on masks, rubber gloves, and a full body gown. We look...

Tons of Biking, and Tons of Rain

Óla todos! This might be a shorter one this week. Not a whole lot happened, but there were a few fun moments. I live in a four man apartment with another companionship, which is awesome, but all four of us have to share a car. The other companionship needs it more than us which is fine, so we end up biking to lots of our lessons and other things. Its great exercise, and its really fun biking over the huge bridges over the huge river/bay that is in our area.  Every day without fail, we get a ton of rain for a few hours. So sometimes it starts when we're biking home, and my compaion and I will get soaked. It's pretty fun actually, especially since it's warmer rain so we're not freezing the whole time. Every now and then, the rain gets so bad, we have to drive through 2-3 foot deep puddles on the road. The rain in Florida is nothing like you'd ever see in Idaho and Utah. Crazy stuff. I also got the opportunity to help teach and English class for the local Brazillians. ...

Florida Man

Óla everyone! Sorry I didn't send out an email last week, it was a bit hectic traveling all day. So this one will be extra long. For those that don't know, while I'm waiting for my visa to finish processing and approval, I have been reassigned to serve in the Orlando, Florida mission! I've already been out in Florida for a week, but before I write about that, I'll talk about my last week at the MTC since I never got to write about it. Our last week at the MTC was awesome. We made a video together as a district, which was super fun. Those three years of videography classes in high school finally paid off, haha.  Since most of our teachers had to leave for BYU the week before, we got to have a few new teachers for our last week, and they were cool! One of them was the actor for Amaleki in the upcoming Book of Mormon videos coming out next year, so that was cool to be able to get to know him.  Because our district was learning a language, we all had to take a language ...
